I Had A Dream, A Wonderful Dream, Papa

I had unusually vivid dreams last night/this morning, and while some of them were terrifying (particularly the one where I was playing Animal Crossing and found out my town was infested with tarantulas that ALL STARTED GUNNING FOR ME after I missed the first one with my net), at least one of them was incredibly inspiring.
Within the context of the dream, I was watching a cartoon. I can't remember the plot of it right now, but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with motorcycle-riding vigilantes fighting monsters, and that a major component of the setting was a cadre of scientists providing the main characters with weapons and researching ways to effectively fight the monsters. Victor showed up as a member of this group of scientists; his major character traits included a habit of apologizing for everything and a strong desire to help humanity through his work.
...oh, and he was plagued by rumors that he was secretly a mad scientist, and thus technically one of the monsters that the protagonists should have been fighting. Which he was, in all fairness, but he only showed that side of himself when a jealous rival scientist threatened him with blackmail. The situation escalated into a hostage crisis, with police surrounding Victor's lab while he, in full madness place mode, worked feverishly on some unknown device. The other protagonists, who had taken a liking to him earlier, had to break through the barricade and reach Victor somehow.
Not sure how it all got resolved, but there was a big climactic moment with Victor struggling with himself to activate his machine, his voice and demeanor shifting rapidly between his madness and better nature as he screamed "Hate! Science! Hate! Science!"
