Aug. 12th, 2013 11:01 pmGiven that so much of my waking life has revolved around silly Internet review videos for a couple years now, I'm amazed it took me this long to have a dream about them.
Yep, I had an Atop the Fourth Wall/Spoony Experiment-related dream last night. It was buried deep in another dream where I was back in college and finals were coming up and I had two big projects due in a week of which I had done exactly nothing, and I was having trouble remembering exactly what classes I was signed up for. Yep, one of those dreams. It's no wonder my subconscious decided I needed to chill and watch a video for a while.
The video itself was a TSE/AT4W crossover. Some sort of a review was at the core of it (of course), but the tone was kind of dark and apocalyptic, with a sense of "shit is going down" and "several people might die." And 90s Kid and Spoony took a break during a desperate gun battle with an unseen threat to make out.
No, really.
No, really.
As in, my dream-self was sitting and watching the video, going "OK, Lewis Lovhaug, dressed as 90s Kid, and Noah Antwiler are making out on camera right now. With tongue. OK. If I rewind and watch this again, I'm sure I'll see they're tensing up or twisting away or showing some sort of reluctance in their body language. Nnnnope, no, they're really not. OK, clearly they're leading into a gag. ...and taking a lot of time to do so. Aaaand still looking like they're totally into it. And ... back to the review. ...what? We're not gonna TALK about this? WHAT?!"
This particular Liplock Alligator Moment did get referenced after the credits. As Linkara and Pollo were looking over the aftermath of the episode's climactic fight, Linkara admitted that he was the one who set up 90s Kid and Spoony, and he's pleased to see that they're getting more serious. This was all in the aftermath of:
1) 90s Kid coming out of the closet to the rest of the team.
2) Spoony discovering that he had been infected by a Parallax-style parasite for several years, and eventually defeating it, banishing it from his system, and setting out to make amends for the evil things he had done under its influence.
They'd both been through the wringer, and Linkara started playing matchmaker to try and help give them a little more stability in their lives.
(Once I'd been awake for a few hours and had time to process the dream, my conscious mind added a little vignette of Linkara cheerfully reassuring Spoony that things are going to be better from now on, and he knows Spoony would never do anything to hurt 90s Kid, because if he did, Linkara would send him to a dimension where nothing exists except pain. ^_^ )
